About

Hi, I’m Sheri — founder and designer of Museā, a Capetonian label born from the quiet moments of creativity that lit me up as a child and still ground me today.

Museā was established in 2017 in South Africa, but in many ways, it’s been with me since the beginning. When I was little, my parents gave me a toy sewing machine. I didn’t know it then, but that tiny machine stitched the first seams of a lifelong love affair with clothing — not just fashion, but the act of making. Of creating something meaningful from nothing.

In high school, I found my rhythm again in home economics class. Sewing was the only place where I lost track of time and found real peace. It was where I felt most myself — fulfilled, alive, and free.

Although I went on to build a career in the creative and retail industries, my love for fashion never left. It lingered quietly in the background — a gentle pull I could never ignore. I knew I didn’t want to turn it into a job just for the sake of it. I needed it to stay true. So I started slowly — designing and selling small batches of clothing based on what I truly wanted to wear.

Natural fabrics and sustainable textures became my starting point — pieces that felt honest, lived-in, and beautiful in their simplicity. I would explore hidden corners of Cape Town to find materials that told a story — organic, tactile, and timeless. It’s still how I design today: intuitively, with heart and intention.

Museā remains my side project, but it holds a large place in my life. It’s what has carried me through difficult seasons and given me deep joy — a reminder that something meaningful doesn’t need to be loud or big to make an impact.

Today, Museā is still run in small batches. We produce locally and supply a handful of curated stockists in South Africa and abroad. Every piece is made with care, designed to feel effortless yet thoughtful — clothing for women who live with soul and seek beauty in simplicity.

Thank you for being here.

With love,
Sheri

Museā takes inspiration from its namesake, that a woman’s body is an exhibition of natural form. Something to embellish and adorn with only the finest of the earth. The naked skin a texture that informs the fabric used in every garment; natural, lightweight and eco friendly.
